Description

Two Moon globes. One globe with mechanical brass stand to show lunar libration. (smaller earth globe attached to the stand). Made from papier mache(?) plaster(?), varnish(?) and engraved paper gores(?).Second globe on wooden mount, without libration apparatus, by John Russell R. A. Showing the near side of the moon. With a handwritten epigram by Nevil Maskelyne (the Royal Astronomer). Made from papier mache(?) plaster(?), varnish(?) and handpainted paper gores(?).
