Launched in 2021, RAS Techniques and Instruments (RASTI) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal which provides an international forum for high-quality papers covering data science, software, and instrumentation, in astrophysics and geophysics.

Topics include:

  • Artificial intelligence and other machine-learning methods for obtaining insights from datasets
  • Advances in statistical methods relevant to these disciplines
  • Software for processing data (including pipelines), data analysis and modelling, including effective use of high-performance computers
  • Innovations in sensors, sensor systems (including novel missions), and other aspects of instrumentation.
  • Mission concepts including surveys, instrument development, and other research which supports both pre and post commencement of operations for both spaceborne and ground-based activities.

As an open access journal, RASTI is proud to be listed in the DOAJ and Scopus, and the international Editorial Board supports the Royal Astronomical Society’s charitable mission in ensuring that high-quality research is published in the journal.
