Engaging diverse partners and diverse audiences with astronomy and geophysics: a new approach to public engagement.
The Royal Astronomical Society’s RAS200 outreach and engagement scheme directly reached over 220000 participants at a cost of around £1 million, taken from the Society’s reserves. RAS200 was part of the RAS bicentennial programme, aiming to embed astronomy and geophysics more widely in society and to leave a lasting legacy of social partnership.
