I am an Associate Professor at the University of Leeds, interested in the dynamics and evolution of deep planetary interiors and how these bodies generate global magnetic fields.
I received the Winton Capital award (G) for work showing how our models of earths magnetic field depend sensitively on the transport properties of iron at extreme temperatures and pressures. I am a computer scientist by training who came to geophysics via a masters course in fluid dynamics.
I like my research mixed with a healthy dose of five- aside football and heavy rock music!
