New outreach opportunity for RAS Fellows!

The RAS have partnered with the STEM Ambassadors programme (https://www.stem.org.uk/stem-ambassadors). STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from industry and academia who work, study or research in a STEM field. They are passionate about what they do and have a desire to pass on their enthusiasm and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.

If you are a RAS Fellow and a STEM Ambassador volunteer, we are now able to advertise outreach opportunities and log RAS outreach activities via the STEM Ambassador portal.

By partnering with STEM Ambassadors it means:

  • You can access free DBS checks and public engagement training
  • We can now advertise RAS outreach opportunities more easily
  • You can log your RAS outreach hours and qualify for rewards and certificates
  • We can measure impact and engagement of outreach undertaken by our Fellows!

You will also have the opportunity to be part of the One Million Interactions programme. One Million Interactions is an initiative to attract more young people into the space industry, and has pledged to deliver one million interactions per year with young people to emphasize 'space' as a context for teaching the curriculum. For more information on this have a look at this page: https://www.stem.org.uk/esero/inspiring-next-generation.
