During these unprecedented times the Education and Outreach team have taken their wonderful space lessons online!

As schools and nurseries are closed, we are offering online interactive space sessions for preschool, primary and secondary aged students! And we plan to continue these online sessions once schools reopen, so do get in touch if you want one for your school!

Sign up using Eventbrite, and you will be sent a Zoom link to participate.

The secondary sessions generally take place on alternate Tuesdays at 4pm. The session will be a 40 minute talk and 20 minutes of Q&A. Topics will include the life cycle of stars, planetary formation, exoplanets and black holes.

The next secondary session will take place in the summer holidays - we're taking a short break!

The primary sessions generally take place on alternate Wednesdays at 10am. The session will be a 40 minute talk and 20 minutes of Q&A. Topics will include the Solar System, asteroids and meteoroids, astronauts and space travel.

The next primary session, about ET and aliens, is on Wednesday 22nd July at 10am and the link is here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lockdown-learning-primary-level-online-space-session-tickets-111817948494

The preschool sessions take place on alternate Wednesdays at 10.30am for 30 minutes. This session will be interactive, including role play, singing, learning about space and having fun!

The next preschool session will take place in the summer holidays - we're taking a short break!

The recordings of previous sessions can be found on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/RoyalAstroSoc/playlists

Each session is recorded, so please keep video cameras switched off if you do not wish your child to be recorded. You will also be muted, but can message the speaker via the chat function for a truly interactive experience!

If you are unable to get tickets for one of the sessions you can be placed on a waiting list. If a place becomes available you will be notified. If there are any sessions you are unable to attend you can see a recording of the session that you can view in your own time.

For more information on these session, or to request one for your school, please get in touch with Sheila Kanani.
