The Society for the History of Astronomy's 2017 Spring Conference being held at the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge.

The Society for the History of Astronomy is holding its Spring Conference on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge.

The speaker programme is shown here:

  • Howard Carlton MA – John Pringle Nichol, the Nebular Hypothesis and 19th Century Cosmogony
  • Dr James Hannam – Dancing to the Music of the Spheres: Medieval Visions of the Heavens
  • Dr Simon Mitton FRAS – The History of Planetary Science - Discovering the Dynamic Planet Beneath our feet
  • Dr Stewart Moore FRAS - Charles Messier – From Birth to Death
  • Mark Robinson SHA – George With – Mirror Maker

In addition to the talks, there will be a second-hand book sale throughout the day, a raffle, a display stand about the SHA and the benefits of membership and a selection of SHA publications for sale to non-members.
