Techniques used: blackwork, with a black thread with sparkling highlights

Inspiration: "I'd been wanting to try some blackwork for a while, and this project provided an opportunity when I found a pattern for a star! The designer is Christabel Seneque. I chose a thread with some sparkle in it to add interest. I love the way the different patterns and density of stitches work together to give a 3D effect. I enjoyed doing it so much I'll certainly be doing more blackwork in future."
