Biography

Gaetano Festa is a full professor of Earth and Atmospheric Physics at the University of Napoli Federico II. His primary research interests lie in earthquake physics, with a focus on seismicity observation and modeling, for which he employs both classical seismic instruments and DAS technology. Additionally, he is interested in numerical modeling of earthquake sources, including rupture kinematics and dynamics, with applications in tsunami hazard assessment and forecasting. He has been actively involved in building the Near Fault Observatory community in Europe and currently serves as the chair of the Service Coordination Committee for EPOS, the European Plate Observing System.
