Prof. Anna Scaife (Deputy Editor-in-Chief 2021-present)

Anna Scaife is Professor of Radio Astronomy at the University of Manchester, UK. Her research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence for discovery in data intensive astrophysics. She is particularly interested in the correct statistical treatment of uncertainty and bias in deep-learning applications to astronomy and how those propagate into scientific analyses that use AI outputs. She also has a long-standing interest in the calibration, imaging and data processing for radio interferometry, in particular with respect to radio polarimetry and the study of large-scale magnetic fields.
