Dr Luisa Valoroso

Luisa Valoroso is an observational seismologist at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Italy. Her research focuses on investigating the fine-scale three-dimensional geometry, kinematics and mechanics of crustal faults, using high-precision earthquake location catalogues. In particular, she is interested in understanding how geometry, velocity structure, pore fluid pressure and mechanical properties of fault zones combine to control the generation and the space-time evolution of seismicity, in both natural and man-induced seismicity cases.
