Previously he was a Winterover for the IceCube Neutrino Observatory (UW-Madison) at the South Pole in Antarctica for the 2020-2021 season. His research focuses on machine learning for social good, with applications on constrained/edge devices, such as drones or satellites, particularly within the contexts of disaster response and conservation. He is interested in cross-domain collaboration and how techniques used in space science and astrophysics can be applied to other fields.
