Aurorasaurus wants to know about your sightings of STEVE, the slightly strange aurora.

STEVE (strong thermal emission velocity enhancement) is an unusual form of aurora that is holds clues about the nature of the upper atmosphere. If you are a skywatcher and keep an eye out for aurora, please report any sightings to the citizen science project Aurorasaurus.

And if you want to find out more about STEVE in Scotland, Melissa MacDonald and colleagues have published a research paper about it in Science Advances, combining data from citizen scientists with SWARM satellite data.
