Mira's Moon is a rhyming picture book written by Dr Sarah Crick and illustrated by Lee Holland. During the story, we go on a space adventure with Mira, a courageous vole who loves to explore new worlds. Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus, with its rumoured under-crust ocean, has captured her attention. Along with her big brother Phoenix and their robotic worm, she sets off to Enceladus in search of alien sea creatures! We follow their story to see if they are the first to find aliens!
In this magical space adventure, based on facts about our Solar System, astronomer Dr Sarah Crick turns our real Solar System into a relatable, reachable playground for children and their adults to dream in together.
Attendees will get to:
- Take part in an engaging read-through of the book from Sarah in the lecture theatre.
- A craft session where children and their adults can make moon-themed mosaics of Enceladus to take home. Exclusive colouring sheets will also be available so children can use their imagination to create their own versions of the book characters.
- Family space picture quiz with a prize for the winning family.
Sarah will also have signed copies of the book available for purchase at the event as well as sparkly space pin badges. Click here to join Mira on her space adventure and book your place!
