The new journal RAS Techniques and Instruments (RASTI) provides an international and open-access forum for high-quality papers in all branches of Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics that describe advances in methods of collecting and evaluating data, ranging from new instrumentation to innovative data processing and analysis procedures, along with new theoretical and modelling developments. Topics include:
· Artificial intelligence and other machine-learning methods for obtaining insights from datasets
· Advances in statistical methods relevant to these disciplines
· Software for processing data (including pipelines), data analysis and modelling, including effective use of high-performance computers
· Innovations in sensors, sensor systems (including novel missions), and other aspects of instrumentation.
