Carl Murray is Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy in the Astronomy Unit, School of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University of London. He is a planetary scientist with a general interest in celestial mechanics and a particular interest in the motion of solar system bodies – from planets to dust particles. Recently he has worked on the interaction between planetary rings and small moons using images from the Cassini spacecraft. During his career he has held a Royal Society University Research Fellowship as well a SERC/PPARC Advanced Fellowship and a PPARC Senior Research Fellowship. He has also co-authored the textbook ‘Solar System Dynamics’.
