Five years of Venus Express and a look to the Future

Start Date
End Date

A specialist discussion meeting of the RAS.

Organised by Colin Wilson (Oxford), Marina Galand (Imperial)

This meeting aims to bring together Venus researchers from the UK as well as to inform others about the latest news from Earth's sister planet. It will provide an insight into the exciting dataset returned so far by the ESA Venus Express orbiter (launched in November 2005), including reviews of the key findings, current open issues and modelling results. The meeting will also highlight the Japanese Akatsuki orbiter (due to arrive at Venus in December 2010) as well as further opportunities for Venus exploration.

The meeting will comprise plenary sessions including invited talks and dedicated discussion time, and a poster session to help stimulate discussion.
