In recognition of David Axon's life's work in Astronomy and, in recent times, as the Head of the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Sussex, we hope you will join us in remembrance.
Massive black holes in galaxies
This Royal Astronomical Specialist Discussion Meeting will take place at the University of Sussex on the following dates:
Thursday 18th April 2013 - 11.00-18.00 followed by optional dinner event
Friday 19th April 2013 - 9.00-12.30 followed by the memorial service

If you would like to propose a contributed paper, or a poster, for the meeting please send a title and abstract to the co-chairs of the scientific organising committee, Robert Smith (r.c.smith_AT_sussex.ac.uk) and Andy Robinson (axrsps_AT_rit.edu), as soon as possible and definitely by the end of February.
Memorial service
The memorial service will be held on Friday April 19th 2013 in the University of Sussex Meeting House Chapel. The service will begin at 2:30pm and last for about one hour. Afterwards there will be a reception with light refreshments.
A book of condolences will be available before and after the Service. If you are not able to sign it in person, you can pass on a message using the box at the end of the form (or via email to mps_AT_sussex.ac.uk). Messages of 25 words or less will be transcribed by student volunteers. Longer messages will be printed out and glued in place.
