Diversity officer, Sheila Kanani, has been working with three undergrads from Lancaster University on a summer project looking at diversity within demographics of physics and astronomy university students. They presented their findings at a poster presentation event at the university in July 2023. The students, Megan Matthews, Emily Walls and Evie Miller, worked with Sheila for 4 weeks during the summer. Their poster, "Are there differences in representation of undergraduates taking physics degrees compared to those registered on astrophysics degrees" won first place at the poster presentation event, and the data will be used to help with an honorary research project that Sheila is currently undertaking with Lancaster University.
